Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance imbues her with incredible abilities, Harper’s destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She becomes a Paladin, one of an ancient line of guardians with agility, super strength and lethal fighting instincts.

Just when life can’t get any more disastrously crazy, Harper finds out who she’s charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper’s least favorite person. But things get complicated when Harper starts falling for him—and discovers that David’s own fate could very well be to destroy Earth.

Rebel Belle was not what I expected. But oh, I loved it so much.

All of the characters were perfect, and none of them annoyed me. They all impacted the story in such a great way, I miss them, and I just finished the book two seconds ago.

I loved the idea of a southern belle epically fighting, and there were many epic battles in this book. At first, I was confused with Harper becoming a Paladin, but it was cleared up perfectly.

Both Ryan and David were so cute! I was grinning on every page their names were mentioned. They were both such great developed characters, I was very pleased with how Lady Hawkins ( 😉 ) wrote them. I was never bored with reading Rebel Belle, and most chapters ended in such a cliff-hanger way, I just had to keep reading on. There was never a slow moment and most moments that would seem boring were so interesting because Rachel has such a beautiful writing style that pulls you in.

The ending was left open, and I am super excited to see how the story plays out in the next book.

Five out of five stars to Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins.
